An Energy Aware Relay Based TPC Routing Strategy for WBAN

Wireless body area network (WBAN) plays an important role in health sciences. The aim is to improve the quality of life. It has many benefits including remote monitoring of patients without stay at medical centres. Normally, the nature of data in WBAN is multimedia due to which it requires high data rate. This in turn results in maximum heat generated from IoT devices which leads to a thermal dissipation. In this paper, the specific absorption rate (SAR), a term used to measure the thermal dissipation of devices and its impact on human body, has been considered along with energy of nodes. Moreover, the proposed work contributes by proposing an energy-aware routing based on Transmission Power Control (TPC). The simulation results show that the proposed routing strategy outperforms the existing approaches.
