LED Display for Timetables Controlled by IoT

In this paper we present the development of an intelligent display system, using the concept of Internet of Things meant to be used especially for displaying the schedule at the entrance to the classrooms in an educational facility. The display consists of an array of LEDs, which form four lines of text of 8x32 LEDs per line on which information will be displayed. The data to be displayed is manipulated remotely through the Internet using the NodeMCU device. To generate the desired schedule for one week of a room quickly by the responsible with this task of the facility, a dedicated program was developed. In the main interface of the program the user has to fill out the necessary fields for each time interval of a day as: the name/number of the room, the discipline which is held at a certain time interval and the study year which should follow the discipline. All this data is saved in a file and exported remotely to the controller of the display. The file can be opened any time if a modification must be done in one of the fields without re-editing the whole fields. The display system can be used very well in other facilities too where the schedule of a large amount of rooms must be managed by a responsible.
