PCA-based Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method for Pipeline Risk Assessment

Scientific risk assessment of submarine oil and gas pipeline can prevent pipeline leakage accidents. In this paper, the main control factors and their weights extracted from the principal component analysis (PCA) are adopted as the weight matrix of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE). Compared with the traditional FCE, the PCA-based FCE proposed in this paper not only eliminates the redundant indexes in the pipeline risk evaluation index set, but avoids the subjectivity of the index weight determination. The proposed method is applied to the risk assessment of a section of submarine pipeline, and the simulation result shows the effectiveness.
