Application of Maximum Power Point Tracking Control in Pendulum Wave Energy Converter

In order to improve the power output effect of pendulum wave energy converter, this paper analyzes the dynamic model of pendulum wave power generation system under the effect of regular sea waves. The relationship curve between the output power of the system and the equivalent impedance of the control circuit is derived. According to the characteristics of the curve, a perturbation-observe method was proposed with optimal perturbation step size. The simulation system model was built in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The simulation results show that the anti-interference ability of the ameliorative control strategies is improved under the different wave conditions. It overcomes the shortcomings of local optimum and the power oscillation like traditional perturb-and-observe method. The system can be quickly to track nearby the maximum power point.
