A Section Location Method in Active Distribution Networks Based on Multiple Information

Due to the flexible topology characteristics of active distribution network, the network topology is not described timely and accurately by adjacency matrix, where the matrix algorithm is not adaptive to the flexible network. Therefore, a novel matrix algorithm-based method is proposed to describe the spatial and temporal characteristics of active distribution network topology. Firstly, the relationship between network nodes and branches is described by the graph theory, which is combined with the real-time switch state matrix to obtain the dynamic adjacency matrix describing electrical connection states. Then, based on the network branch type classification, a partition and hierarchical traversal method is adopted, for fault location. Meanwhile, the reverse traversal is used to complement forward traversal to solve the problem of blind spot when multiple faults occurred in DG network. Case study results on an active distribution network show that, the proposed fault section location method has good adaptability to the flexible topology change and leads to accurate section location results.
