Design, Testing, and Analysis of a Third Order BPF For Ku-Band Applications

A bandpass filter has been presented in this paper with its design, which has been substantiated by its analysis followed by confirmed and authentic results. The authors have used a simple approach and method to realize the three transmission poles and two transmission zeroes for application in the Ku-band. The resonant frequency is achieved by the implementation of half-circular-shape (HCS) patch and stubs as well. At first, the 50-Ohms input impedance is provided by the use of the microstrip transition. Apart from this, four open stubs, along with two HCSs patches, are executed on the radiation of the structure. The merits of HCS patch and stubs is to produce the resonant frequency. Moreover, a stub is placed on each side of the port. The length of each stub that is placed on either side of the port is equivalent to half of the guided wavelength. Additionally, to eliminate the unwanted noise and improve the fractional bandwidth, the feed-line and stub gap plays a primary role in the design. The designed filter can be used for Ku-band applications.
