Implementation of an operative remote sensing frost product based on GOES-16 satellite

Vast agricultural areas in the middle latitudes are repeatedly affected by the damage caused by the frost phenomenon. This work describes the operational implementation of a product for frost monitoring based on information from GOES16 geostationary satellite. The first results show the potential as a regional level product for near real time monitoring, resulting in a classified mapping of (occurred) frost severity.
