Analysis of the Global Solar Radiation and Solar Energy in Ruse, Bulgaria

In the present study is performed a harmonic analysis of the global solar radiation for the region of Ruse, Bulgaria. The study is based on radiation data obtained from a meteorological station in the campus of the University of Ruse. Initially, basic statistical analysis was performed. Thereafter, the constant term and the first three harmonics were obtained for the average daily solar radiation in each month of the year. The obtained results showed that for the region of Ruse the average solar radiation could well be approximated with only its constant term and first component. The obtained results could be used as input data in PV and solar simulation software.
