Sensitivity Analysis of Dominant Frequency of Transient Recovery Voltage using Stockwell Transform

This work presents a sensitivity analysis of the dominant frequency and energy obtained by the application of the Stockwell transform (ST) on Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV) signals that appear between terminals of Circuit Breaker during fault isolation in Transmission Lines (TL). Signal bank is obtained using PSCAD/EMTDC simulating a real TL, providing insight on the influence of the model parameter's change in the frequency-distance and energy-distance curves. Sensible parameters are defined as those whose variation affect the frequency spectrum, that is, the inception angle, active and reactive power flow at the end of the bus, and the fault type associated with the distance. Finally, the approach demonstrates the robustness and precision of the ST in the analysis of the frequency spectrum that appears in the TRV, opening a wide range of possibilities in the application of this analysis in transmission line faults.
