Converters to drive two brushed DC machines

Converters for two machines with only one capacitor and one inductor for each machine are treated. They are derived from the Zeta, Cuk, Buck-Boost topology, and developed from a special converter with limited duty cycle. The function is derived by inspecting and drawing figures of important current signals. The stages of the converter are controlled in interleaved mode to reduce the input ripple. The calculation of the small signal model is explained with the help of a signal flow graph. The important features of the converters are compared. Some simulations show the correctness of the investigations.
