Engineering Activities for the Classroom - Vol. 2: Energy in Our World

This educational activities series explores topics of timely interest for teachers, students and parents. Teachers can use the activities contained within for developing lesson plans or assignments for students -- both in class, or via distance learning. In Volume 2, veteran educator Harry T. Roman urges teachers not to pass up opportunities to encourage students to look at the interrelationships between energy and other aspects of our culture -- such as the environment, economy, society, and the legal and cultural concerns people may have. Teachers can complete many of these activities with students in class; assign them to students as fun weekend homework; or make assignments to student teams to encourage teamwork and enhanced discussion.
