Development of A T/R Module for 5G Millimeter Wave Communication

This paper describes the development of a T/R module for mm-wave communication, working in 24.25-29.5 GHz. This T/R module's IF frequency is fixed at 3.5 GHz with 200 MHz bandwidth. The T/R module is designed with superheterodyne architecture, bases on commercially available RF surface mounted components from Analog Device, Inc. (ADI) and Qorvo. All of the chosen components are investigated separately, before the full integration on a multi-layer PCB consisted with RO4003C and FR4. The proposed design is planned to be used in a millimeter-wave MIMO communication system.
