Deployment Strategy to Enhance the Coverage in Medium Scale Waterbodies

In this paper, we propose an enhanced coverage deployment algorithm based on the 3D network architecture of an underwater acoustic sensor network. This algorithm mainly focuses on maximizing the network coverage area by using an optimal number of sensor nodes and also eliminates the coverage overlap between the adjacent sensor nodes. It employs a mathematical model that is designed by the consideration of underwater channel characteristics. This algorithm is simulated for the analysis of network coverage area and results show good performance over the existing cuboid method.
