Hybrid Natural Fibers Composites with Jute and Banana Fibers: A Review

Exponential growth is reported recently in research and innovation in the area of natural fiber composites (NFC), one of such is hybridization of two or more natural fibers. Hybridization of different natural fibers are done in the view of enhancement of properties by selecting the natural fibers with required properties. Furthermore, many efforts are noted into enhancing overall performance to extend capabilities and applications of NFC. This review aims to provide an overview of mechanical and thermal properties of hybrid jute and banana fibers reinforced epoxy composites. The review study concludes that hybridization of banana fibers in the jute and epoxy composites results in better mechanical and thermal properties and shows improvement in water absorption property.
