RF Transceivers for Health Care Monitor Systems: A Review

In today's world latest trends in wireless communication systems, smart health care industry is focused on portable medical sensors and devices for continuous monitor of patient's health anywhere and anytime. These sensors can collect the patient's physiological parameters just like body temperature, respiration, ECG and pulse rhythm; transmit them wirelessly and send the data to the RF transceiver module. The proposed radio frequency transceiver system compromises the crucial components for either reception or transmission such as low noise or high-power amplifier, an appropriate filter, up or down conversion mixer and proper carrier radio frequency band. This study reviews the challenges of different approaches for compact, high data rates, proper modulation techniques, low voltage supply as well as low power consumption of RF transceiver design systems for wireless medical communication services.
