Simulation of a SEPIC Based Single Switch Buck-Boost DC-DC Converter

This paper presents simulation of a SEPIC based buck-boost DC to DC converter with a single switch. The simulation is performed in MATLAB/Simulink software. Open loop and closed loop simulations are carried out to get a better understanding about the converter. This converter has a better voltage gain in comparison with traditional converters. This is a single switch converter and voltage stress experienced by switch is very less. Also the need of large input filter is eliminated by the continues nature of input current. Along with this the output voltage provided by the converter is non-inverting. All these features are validated with the help of simulation performed.
