Design of Dual-Band CTS Antenna for Ku/Ka Satellite Receiver

A dual-band shared-aperture CTS antenna is designed. An independent high/low frequency feed network is used to excite the antenna, and high isolation of high/low frequency signals is achieved by a parallel plate duplexer. The parallelplate duplexer has the advantages of broadband, low loss, low dispersion and easy processing. It realizes the isolation of two different frequency signals by tuning grooves of the parallel plate duplexer. The simulation results of the designed dual-band CTS antenna show that the reflection coefficient of the antenna is less than -15dB and port isolation greater than 25dB at low frequency. The antenna gain is 20.6dB and the efficiency can reach 60% in 11.85GHz. the reflection coefficient is less than -10dB and the port isolation is greater than 25dB at high frequency. At 19.45GHz, the antenna gain is 26.3dB and the efficiency can reach 80%.
