Towards Application-aware Resource Allocation for Virtual Data Centers

As applications compete for cloud network resources, bandwidth guarantee demand for cloud applications continues to grow. Nevertheless, cloud networking suppliers fail to offer cloud network bandwidth guarantees, unsurprisingly inhibiting tenants' applications from executing. Current techniques provide tenants with realistic abstraction cluster solutions that mimic the core physical network resources. Although virtual network abstractions attempt to rectify this issue, they remain impractical. In this paper, we study the criteria in the Virtual Data Center (VDC), enabling application-aware network with bandwidth guarantees. we presented an innovative virtual network to physical network mapping scheme, Extended Network Abstraction (ENA) model. ENA permits tenants to deliver applications networking environment to improve performance effectively. ENA model offers bandwidth guarantee, provide efficient bandwidth allocation, higher network utilization, and achieve better scalability.
