On the Potential Game of Packet Reception Ratio Utility Functions in Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Networks channel exhibits significant complexity when attempting to analyse theoretically the network layer of the wireless stack. A parameter of this layer is the Packet Reception Ratio (PRR). Optimising PRR can result in transmission reliability and high throughput. Considering wireless nodes as players, we can construct game-theoretic models that can be utilised to solve transmission reception problems in a distributed nature. In this paper, we give necessary conditions to use potential game approaches with PRR utility functions.
