Multiple water quality monitoring platform

It is imperative to protect and utilize the water resource because water resource shortage has been a society problem in Jilin Province. The accuracy and efficiency of water quality monitoring are increasingly demanded. How to predict scientifically is necessary for water resource management and emergency treatment.Until now the traditional water quality monitoring system has revealed many problems. Firstly, the safety of the floating platform is threatened due to the corrosion of the welding points under water. Secondly, the maintenance of equipment is expensive because underwater robots or divers are required. Thirdly, monitoring deviation is inevitable since the equipment is easy to be covered by the mud and sand. Finally, the labor costs for adjusting the monitoring depth are very high because different sensors are required at distributed water areas. In our work, a multiple water quality monitoring platform is developed to solve the above problems. The wave converter is used as the sensor by replacing the traditional current meter, which is based on mechanical rotation. The pulse wave emitted by wave converter is subsequently reflected and the signal is received as well as the flow velocity is calculated by measuringthe Doppler frequency shift. The equipment can directly measure the velocity of the cross-section without disturbing the flow field as well as its measuring process is rapid and measurement scope is wide. It can be widely used for detecting the flow field structure, velocity and flow testing in ocean and river.
