A Case Study of Parametric Sensitivity Analysis of Inductive Wireless Power Transfer System

For Inductive Wireless Power Transfer applications, unavoidable parameter changes will affect the system not only in the output voltage but also in system stability and dynamic performance such as regulation time, oscillation amplitude, etc. Engineers will need a guidance on the seletion of circuit parameters. This paper provides an idea of using the parametric sensitivity of system eigenvalues as a guidance for optimal circuit design of IPT systems. The parameters considered in the analysis are coupling factor, load resistance, filter capacitance and operating frequency. The trajectory of main poles are analyzed under the variation of each parameter. Then a parametric sensitivity analysis of the four parameters based on a relative sensitivity definition are performed. Results of the analysis provide guidance for further study and circuit design.
