Characteristics of Primary-Parallel-Compensation Methods for Wireless Power Transfer Systems

This paper discusses characteristics of current- and voltage-source output in parallel-parallel (PP) compensated and parallel-series (PS)-compensated wireless power transfer (WPT) systems, in which the primary and secondary coils have a different value and the quality factor in the system is not high. The resonant frequencies of current- and voltage-source output are theoretically derived and analyzed. Experimental results demonstrate the current- and voltage-source output in the PP and PS compensated WPT driven by a voltage-source input.
