Comparisons of Smartphone Induced SAR in Computational Human Models

With the widespread use of smart phones, to investigate the effects of electromagnetic waves emitted from these devices on human health has become more important. For this purpose, the specific absorption rate (SAR) values were calculated by numerical simulations using a computational smartphone model which contains third generation (3G) and fourth generation communication (4G) systems antennas and computational human models. In addition, separate calculations were made for adult male, adult female and child computational human models, and age and gender related differences were determined. SAR calculations were performed at 1.8 GHz and 2.4 GHz frequencies, and the SAR values of brain, skin and bone tissues of the head were compared.
