Experimental Investigation of Best Efficiency Point for Centrifugal Crude Oil Export Pump

Installing, maintaining and operating are the difficulties of crude oil production and exporting. Centrifugal pumps consist of two main parts namely working blades or impeller (rotor), which is produced centrifugal force to the production of fluid when rotates at the motor speed. The other part is stator, which is the fixed element of centrifugal pump, which governs flow of the fluid discharge. Pump performance depends on the impeller’s shape. Moreover, the impeller area has significant geometrical parameters for pump design to approach impact pump performance. Energy consumption of pump is affected by the right selection of a proper pump in the system, installation and operations. The losses of crude oil production, operating cost and maintains can be affected on the chosen poor pump performance. The effect of various operating conditions such as flow rates, suction head, and discharge head related to efficiency were measured. In the present study were carried out to determine best efficiency point (73.2). On that point were obtained volume flowrate, head loss at different impeller diameters, net pressure, suction head and power 400 m

/hr, 202m@ 254.8mm, 405m@310.3mm, 495m@319.1mm, 90m and 485hp respectively. The impeller diameter, angle and number of blades, and suction and discharge diameters of the centrifugal pumps are other influential parameters.
