A Novel Design Circular UWB Antenna Array for Microwave Breast Tumor Detection

This paper introduces a novel design of circular antenna array in ring configuration which operated at frequency 3.4 GHz - 7.4 GHz. The antenna is designed and simulated to detect the presence of a tumor. The analysis is done by comparing the E-field, H-field, and Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) to the breast with tumor (r=4mm). With ring configuration, each element of the antenna is directly faced to the breast phantom for better tumor detection. The simulated E-field of 10311 V/m and H-field of 78.7 A/m are obtained for the breast with the tumor. The simulated SAR of 1.32 W/Kg is resulted and safe to use.
