Generation of OAM Radio Waves Using A Single Antenna in Uniform Circular Motion

The common way to generate orbital angular momentum (OAM) beams at radio frequency band is using a uniform circular antenna array, which usually requires a large- size aperture in the applications of long-distance communication and radar sensing due to the beam divergence of OAM. In this letter, we propose the method of generating OAM radio beams with a single antenna in uniform circular motion, which benefits from small antenna size and low cost. The proposed OAM beam generation method is validated by mathematical analysis and simulation results.
