Design of MIMO Antenna Array for 5G Smart Phone Applications Operating in LTE bands

A proposed antenna array design is simulated. The antenna is composed of inverted-hexagon shape connected to circular-disk by four strip line. The simulated results show that the design operates in LTE band-42 (3400-3600 MHz), LTE band-43 (3600-3800 MHz) with return loss better than -10 dB and in LTE band-46 (5150-5925 MHz) with return loss better than -6 dB. The design maintains a good envelope correlation coefficient equal to 0.03. The proposed antenna operates in required frequency bands with total efficiency higher than 70 %. Finally, the proposed design present specific absorption rates (SAR) values less than 0.9 W/Kg. The LTE bands 42/43/46 are achieved within a small volume of (10 ×10 × 5) mm
