Millimeter Wave Passive Frequency Routing Technique for Low-Cost Multi-Band Selectable Transceiver Systems

This paper presents a simple mmW frequency routing technique suitable for low-cost engineering solution of multi-band selectable transceiver system with large channel separations. The 28 GHz and 39 GHz dual-band routing element is fabricated and measured. The measured average insertion losses are 1.54 dB at 28GHz and 2.09 dB at 39 GHz and isolations for both frequencies are larger than 30 dB. The prototypes cooperate well with commercial mmW band-pass filters backing by the low insertion loss and high isolation results. The proposed technique can be extended to multi-band by applying the same principle.
