Adsorption Analysis for Humidity Sensing with Flexible Multi-inlet System

The performance of humidity sensor depends on the adsorption kinetics associated with it. Hence, dependence of inlets for a confined humidity sensor is studied in this paper. The inlet(s) under consideration is flexible in terms of their usage. For successful design and calibration of the sensor, it is mandatory to study the sensing process and how it is affected by different physical constraints. Transport and adsorption processes of water vapor has been studied and the effect of single and multiple inlets is explored systematically. It is observed that the placement and dimension of the inlet affect the adsorbed molecule concentration. Here, with the help of computational modeling, it is shown that, with the ratio of bottom to side inlet dimension of 2:1, the sensor structure facilitates more adsorbed molecule concentration at any given time i.e. 5% more than single inlet structure and 11% more than the structure having bottom to side inlet dimension of 1:1.
