Surface Modification of Sensor Packaging Composites with the Dielectric Barrier Discharge in Air

Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) is a method to produce plasma. By using air as the reaction gas, the produced plasma contains a large number of active particles, which is very suitable for the surface modification of composite materials. The surface of glass/epoxy composite is modified by DBD for 30 seconds, and the thermocouple is encapsulated with the composite. The temperature variation curves of the thermocouple before and after treatment are compared, and the results show that the plasma treatment under different applied voltages has different effects on the thermal conductivity of glass/epoxy composites. That is, when the applied voltage is low, the thermal conductivity of glass/epoxy composites is even lower than that of untreated ones. When the applied voltage is higher than a threshold value, the thermal conductivity of glass/epoxy composites increases gradually with the increment of applied voltage.
