LED Driver with BOOST-BUCK Topology

This paperwork presents a solution based on switching mode power supply to control voltage across the LEDs and the current through it, also maintaining a constant temperature on LEDs using a derating strategy for current. This LEDs driver use a BOOST- BUCK topology with a high efficiency greater than 96% for an output power of 60W for automotive lighting systems. The advantages of this step-up/ step-down DC/DC converter that can produce constant current at a voltage stepped up and stepped down from a varying input voltage is the low input and output ripple and a low Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). This work however proposes for the step-up part of the system a dual-phase interleaved boost to reduce even more the EMI and to distribute the power dissipation to maintain the temperature as low as possible for the power stage.
