Passive radar is still a dynamically developing field of technology. This is due to a number of advantages over the active radar. However, like any technique, it is not free from problems. One of the fundamental ones is the dependence of the radar on illuminators of opportunity. Their proper selection is one of the most critical issues for the effective operation of such systems. Due to numerous problems, such as variability of the FM signal bandwidth, real-time selection based on short-term bandwidth analysis may be the solution.
