An Excitation Method for Fault Diagnosis of DC-AC Converter Based on Simulation

Direct Current-Alternating Current (DC-AC) converter plays a key role in modern industry. Due to the trend of miniaturization and integration of converter, it is much harder to measure the internal signal of converter. This paper presents an excitation method, which contributes to obtain more fault features from output characteristics. A three-phase DC-AC converter is taken as an example to illustrate the method. Available excitation forms are discussed on the basis of output characteristics and test conditions of the converter. Then the fault simulation is carried out, and the output characteristics before and after the degradation of key components under different excitations are analyzed to obtain appropriate parameters of the excitation. Finally, an excitation platform is designed to realize the output of excitation.
