The Five-Domain-Six-Map Method for Signal Analysis in Over-the-Horizon Radar

This paper proposes a useful method for signal analysis in over-the-horizon (OTH) radar. Based on the time, frequency, range, period, and Doppler domains, six maps are constructed to provide clear observation and comprehensive analysis of OTH radar signals in various domains. The proposed five-domain-six-map (5D6M) method is illustrated by the sea clutter, the radio frequency interference, and the transient interference. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the 5D6M method and the advantages on improving the characteristic analysis. Novel perspectives provided by the 5D6M method can help developing new processing algorithms in OTH radar.
