Design Optimization of Coils and Magnets in Vibration Energy Harvester Using Digital Annealer

Vibration energy harvesters (VEHs), which convert ambient vibration energy into electrical energy, have been attracted great attentions as an energy source for wireless sensors in IoT technology. A new method using Digital Annealer for the simultaneous optimization of the coils and magnet arrays of an induction-type VEH is proposed to improve the performance of a VEH. It is found that the optimal arrangement, which strongly depends on the gap length between the coils and magnet arrays, improves the performance.
