Keeping it green: Denver-based Rachio has developed a smart irrigation system controller that is said to make garden watering easier, as well as more energy and water-efficient. If you've got an installed irrigation system for your plants, the mobile app, available on Android and Apple, enables eight or 16 zones to be controlled depending on the unit, from one master valve terminal. It can be turned on and off remotely with a smartphone, plus it integrates with lots of other services and devices like Amazon's Alexa.
