Image Encryption Scheme Based on Quantum Logistic Map and Cellular Automata

In this paper, an image encryption scheme based on quantum logistic map and cellular automaton is proposed. Firstly, three rows of the plain image are randomly selected to get plain message, which is encrypted by public key algorithm RSA. The initial value is calculated by a new mathematical model for quantum logistic map. Then, random keystreams for scrambling and diffusion can be obtained. Secondly, automatic cellular operation is employed on the random keystream followed by a scrambling encryption to the pixels of the plain image. Thirdly, diffusion operation with a modulo function is performed on the scrambled image to hide the pixel values again. Finally, to enhance the security, the final cipher image is obtained after three rounds of encryption process by both scrambling and diffusion. Experimental results and security analysis show that the proposed algorithm has good performance, especially, a new mechanism to generate plain image related keystream together with public key RSA for key distribution and management.
