Tumor Growth Control with Positive Input LPV Controller

Control of tumor growth dynamics is an important challenge of modern medicine. By using appropriate automatic control solutions, better therapy outcomes may be achieved than the currently applied therapies. From control design point of view, serious issues to be solved are the positivity of the input, provision of good control performance, handling nonlinearity and the inter- and intra-patient variability. We propose solutions to handle these challenges by the development of a control framework based on Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) method, input positivity prescription, error dynamics based modeling and Extended Kalman Filtering (EKF). The results show the performance of the proposed framework is acceptable compared to given reference model.
