Automated Method Recognizing Defects in Wood

The article deals with the problem automation of such resource-saving technologies as the use of short cuttings from the sawmill and wood processing industry. The existing equipment glues such sawn timber along the length using special marking devices, which reduces the accuracy of determining the location of wood defects and reduces the speed of the saw units. The method automating the process of recognizing wood defects, using optical and ultrasonic analysis of its structure, will make it possible to determine with high accuracy flaws in lumber and cut them out without using marking devices.
