Design and Implementation of Mini-UAV for Indoor Surveillance

This article presents the mini unmanned aerial vehicle (mini-UAV) for indoor surveillance. The design of mini- UAV is supported for exploring and viewing the surrounding environments. According to the mission of military forces, the operations for the real-world situations are risk and dangerous, so that the mini-UAV will support and reduce the risk operations in dangerous locations. The ability of mini-UAV is to broadcast the aerial images in day and night with the radio frequency of 2.4 GHz and to process the web servers with the Banana Pi board. The 720x480 pixel of images from the night vision camera are used for the web application. The sizes of mini- UAV are the length of 14.7 centimeters and the width of 17.0 centimeters. The experiment results show that the 2200 mAh of lithium polymer batteries can supply for operation more than 10 minutes. The mini-UAV can detect the obstacles for observation and exploration within the range of 30 to 100 centimeters.
