Analysis of Electric Field for Two-Circuit HVDC Overhead Lines with Different Crossing

In this paper, a 3D modeling of the crossing issue of HVDC transmission lines is carried out. The 3D charge simulation method (CSM) is optimized to calculate the nominal electric field of conductor surface and the boundary potential which is the prerequisite to calculate the ground-level electric field. Based on the upstream finite element method, the ion flow field around the crossing area can be solved. Cylindrical area is used to calculate the ion flow field of the actual overhead lines, such as ±1100 lines across ±800kV lines, ±800kV lines across the ±500kV lines. The maximum electric field and the position are obtained with different crossing angles from 0° to 180°. The distribution of the electric field is analyzed for different two-circuit HVDC lines with different crossing, and the effect of crossing angle is obtained from the view of corona discharge.
