Research on Market Mechanism of Self-supplied Power Plants

The role of self-supplied power plants is undergoing change in the energy transformation. The potential of supply and demand regulation as an energy supplier and consumer with the power grid has not been fully tapped, thus unable for them to participate in the two-way interaction of the power grid in an effective market-oriented way. The purpose of this paper is to study the main market player characteristics of self-supplied power plants, analyze types of the market that self-supplied power plants can participate in, and put forward the mechanism for self-supplied power plants to participate in market interaction under the conditions of renewable energy source (RES) subsidy, RES quota system, peak-shaving market and perfectly competitive market. Research results will help promote the consumption of RES and stimulate the vitality of all kinds of main players in the power market.
