Day-ahead Dispatching Model of Source-load Coordination Considering Consumer’s Response Behavior to Real-time Pricing

In order to achieve the safe and economic operation of power system in a deregulated market with real-time pricing (RTP), a day-ahead dispatching model of source-load coordination considering consumer's response behavior to RTP is proposed. In this model, consumers are divided into short range consumers, mixed consumers and long range consumers considering the difference of consumers' responsive behaviors to RTP. Subsequently, the RTP models of three types of consumers are constructed on the strength of price-elasticity matrix. Moreover, two models including the model proposed in this paper and the conventional economic dispatching (ED) model are discussed from different aspects such as their capacities in peak shaving and valley filling, economy and reliability. The proposed model is capable of mobilizing demand-side potentials and flattening load profile so as to reduce the consumer's electricity bill and total operational cost. With the help of MOST in MATPOWER and Mosek solver, the case studies have been carried out on a modified IEEE 7-machine and 57-bus system, and a modified IEEE 54-machine and 118-bus system, respectively. The results in comparison with the traditional ED model show the effectiveness of the proposed model. In addition, the influences of different RTP based demanding responses (DRs) on the performance of ED are analyzed, and the relevant discussions and conclusions might be beneficial for the development of the ED considering DR.
