Abstract:

Performance of electrical machine greatly varies with its operating temperature and amount of stress it is experiencing. To evaluate the performance and working of Linear Hybrid Excited Flux Switching Machine (LHEFSM) thermal analysis is performed. JMAG (FEA package) is used to analyze thermal behaviour of the machine which is then validated by equivalent magnetic circuit using Lumped Parametric Model (LPMC). Developed model is simulated using SIMULINK and is then compared with the FEA analysis. A good agreement between the two is observed with a percentage error of less than 3%. In the end stress analysis of the mover is performed and the resulting stress is evaluated at different mover speed.
