The speed ratio analysis of Ball Traction Reducer with the elastic deformation considered

As energy conservation becoming one of the themes of industrial sustainable development, researchers are in urgent exploring a more efficient transmission form in recent years, which leads to traction drive has become one of the research hotspots in the world of transmission. In this paper, a novel type of planetary ball traction drive reducer is proposed and investigated in terms of its kinematics performance. Based on the elastic contact theory, an elastic deformation model of the ball traction drive reducer is developed here to evaluate the equivalent contact radius. Meanwhile, a new approach dependent on equal linear velocity is introduced to estimate the actual speed ratio. By applying the actual speed ratio model, the kinematics performance of ball traction drive reducer under different output torque is calculated.
