Dynamics of Herringbone Star Gear System considering Mesh Phase and Installation Position

In this paper, the mesh phases of sun gear and ring gear meshing with multi planets are analyzed respectively. The results show that the mesh phases are closely related to the teeth number of sun gear and ring gear, and the position angle of planet. Then, the gravity excitation is analyzed according to the different installation positions of the gearbox, and the dynamic response of the system under different conditions is solved. The results show that the mesh phase has a significant effect on the shape and amplitude of the component vibration trajectory; the different installation positions of the gearbox will make the component vibration trajectory deviate, and the mesh force on two sides of the herringbone gear is no longer equal.
