Workflow automation improves operational efficiency in control centres and beyond

This paper describes experience with the implementation of a workflow automation tool for a control room operator in an integrated power network management and geographical information system environment. In the context of energy deregulation and control centre techniques, the paper describes various innovation areas, the current state of the architecture and standards as well as an architectural outlook.
