Proposal of a platform for practical bimodal work in STEMs to respond COVID-19 for developing countries

In this article, we propose a platform based on VXLAN technology over the VPN server WireGuard to allow a classical university to perform in bimodal mode the practical work requiring the remote control of physical and software resources available within its computer park. This VPN server offers better performance when the Internet connection has a high packet loss rate (1%), and its use does not drastically reduce the speed of the Internet connection. This makes it an essential asset for developing countries characterized by unstable network infrastructures. The platform can be used to ensure the continuity of courses despite the barrier gestures imposed by the coronavirus pandemic. Also, integrating such a solution accelerates the digital transformation in education and prepares students for the changes brought about by the fourth industrial revolution in the education sector.
