Camellia Oleifera Fresh Fruit Harvesting in China

The trends of extracting camellia oil directly from Camellia oleifera fresh fruit seeds, peeled off green husk and shell, need many more advanced mechanical harvesters to promote economic profit for camellia industry. The latest studying and developments of harvesting equipment are reported in this paper, especially focusing the overview of manually auxiliary harvester, working principle of vibrating harvester, combing-style rubber roller and vibrating-teeth harvester. A comprehensive review and analysis about their advantages and disadvantages are also discussed from the parameter system of harvesting efficiency, picking-off ratio, and consuming duration time for per action, and so on. Finally, the future mechanized trend and technical suggestions are put forwarded for Camellia oleifera fresh fruit harvesting equipment design and manufacturing.
