Connecting Innovation and Business—Building a Manager's Toolkit

As executives in an innovation focused company we articulate in no unclear terms that innovation is a priority for our organisation. Our expectations are that innovation should be a way of working and stive to have an innovation culture to be ingrained in the organisation. Multiple town hall meetings, online communications, innovation days, hackathons and more have been used by us to drive home the message that innovation is key to our organisation and its future. There are a few things we could do as leaders within our organization to change this for the better. Five recommendations are provided on what we could do in building an Innovation centric organisation. We believe these recommendations, which we have tried to keep general in this article, can add to a manager's innovation management toolkit.
